Léon Bakst - “Zinaida Gippius” || 1906
I really like this poem of Zinaida Gippius ("All around", 1904). The perfect description of Saint Petersburg and troglodytes living here. Except for last two lines because it didn't change from those days and I don't believe that it will ever do.
Lev Bakst, Portrait of Zinaida Gippius (1906)
Gleb Butuzov about Zinaida Gippius: "There are three reasons of establishing new religious movement: when you are summoned by God, when you are a talented swindler, and when you do not know what to do with your inflated ego. This is the last case, and it also includes Carl Jung, for instance." harsh and I disagree she did know flashes of lights
Poem: L'Imprévisibilité ~ Zinaida Hippius (Gippius)
L'Imprévisibilité ~ Zinaida Hippius (Gippius) (The title translates as "Unpredictability")
According to the word of the Eternal Being, The stream of time is continuous; I only sense an oncoming breeze, The chime of a new moment.
Does it lead to a downfall? To a victory? Does it bear glory, or a sword? I do not see its face; I only know the breeze of encounters.
Moments with obscured faces fly, Fly like birds from another world, Forward, into the circle of life; How am I to freeze them in their flight?
And so in their density, in their interlacing web, Whether I desire it or not, My vessel slices Through the back shadow of uncertainty.
Я сделана для выдерживания огненных жал, а не слепого, тупого, упорного душения. Но так надо.
