she  knows  better  than  to  stick  her  nose  in  places  it  shouldn’t  be.  CURIOSITY  KILLED  THAT  CAT.   surprisingly ,  that  saying  didn’t  apply  to  her ,  because  this  cat  is  still  kicking.  though ,  she  can  only  be  stealthy  for  so  long ,  accidentally  knocking  over  a  few  boxes  signalling  a  crashing  sound  that  would  be  hard  to  ignore.  the  girl  promptly  stands  up ,  exposing  her  hiding  place.

it’s been several years  since perrette had emerged from the castle ,   her seventeenth - century garments suddenly harshly out of place with the outside world  &  monsters baying at her heels the moment she’d rejoined society.   (  her mother ,   five years ago for her  &  four hundred for the world ,   had told her it was an aunt’s home ,   and that she was going there to keep safe.   perrette ,   then ,   had had no idea of her mother’s godliness ,   nor her own powers.   she’d learned much while at the castle ,   though no aunts were to be found ,   only a lot of dusty books that seemed to replenish themselves by magic.  )   she’s adapting to the future remarkably well ,   but it’s not easy.   her disappearing out of time on occasion  &   then popping back into the present doesn’t make it easier ,   but it is a way to catch up on all she’s missed ,   so long as she appears between 1633  &  the 2000′s.

so she’s just visited the nineteenth century for a few days ,   &  she appears back where she’d left off     –––     to an outside perspective ,   she vanishes into thin air with a one moment please and a smile ,   and reappears a few minutes later.   speaking of outside perspectives  :   annabeth.   speaking of annabeth  :   perri has questions.

‘   the eighteen - nineties send their warmest regards.   ’        she uses this as a greeting ,   as a placeholder while she tries to find her train of thought ,   pick back up where she left off.   it’s not unlike dropping a book   &   losing your bookmark.         ‘   i met a boy ,   while i was there ,   who could make his hands catch fire     –––     was that a god - thing too ??   ’        she was never told about any of this ,   only realized her half - divinity when she’d caught her mother’s name     –––     hecate     –––     in a book in the castle ,   &  she’s ever so curious about all of it.
