"Thank you again for helping me with this, Isabela. I really appreciate it."

"Oh, no trouble at all, kitten. I know you want everything to be perfect."

"Hawke's had me over for supper so many times, I just wanted to make something delicious for her as well."

"I understand completely. I could say much the same."

"Oh, Hawke has you over for supper as well?"

"And breakfast."

"That sounds lovely. I've never understood human breakfasts. It's always savory or sweet, but rarely sour or bitter."

"Don't get distracted, kitten. What's left?"

"Oh! I think we have nearly everything on the list! Fresh pumpkin, spices, sugar, flour, eggs... all I'm missing is the butter and cream. I'll go to the milkmonger."

"Oh no, kitten. Not him, that won't do at all."

"No?"

"No. Old man Jurgen doesn't properly chill his milk, so unless it's Wednesday, you're looking at old and possibly a bit on the rancid side."

"What about Madam Farrah? She always has fresh goods."

"Not for this. Farrah never feeds her cows enough rich food stock, so her wares tends to be on the watery side."

"I don't understand, then. Where shall we buy our cream?"

"Come. We will buy our cream from Mistress Satine."

"The wine mistress? Why from her?"

"Satine also sells those expensive and fancy cheeses. Where do you suppose she gets them?"

"I don't know. They usually shoo any elves out of their shop."

"That's awful. I'll make sure she treats you nicely from now on."

"Oh... thanks."

"In any case, we need some quality cream for this. Mistress Satine is the lady to see."

"What's that in your hands there? Some kind of brown bean pod?"

"This, kitten, is a vanilla bean pod."

"It smells lovely. What will you use it for?"

"We'll strip it with a knife and use it to give the cream a bit of a wondrous aroma. We'll mix a bit of it in when we whisk the cream to a nice fluffy texture, and add a dollop of sugar for sweetness."

"That sounds lovely... I never knew you knew so much about cooking, Isabela!"

"Cooking? I know very little."

"But you know so much about preparing human desserts!"

"I know very little about desserts too, kitten."

"You seem to know much more about this than I do."

"Oh that? I'm just an expert on all things whipped cream."
