"Haaaaaaaa! Now," Screamed the Blitz Ace, twirling and attacking the enemy before her. "See ya!"
Raines continued to run ahead. "This place is falling apart, and you continue to waste time with petty enemies?! Your priorities are not set, Tidus!"
"Stop ruining my fun, Raines!" Of course, the athletic woman sprinted and caught up with Raines without any issue. Zanarkand Ruins, however, was crumbling to pieces, without any reason to why. "You're slow, by the way."
"If there was anytime where I wish you not patronize me, can it be now--" Raines slammed into a wall that appeared. "Damnit," he swore, in which, it was obvious that Raines was annoyed; swearing was rare for the male. It had been like this for hours now, running around this maze like ruin for an exit.
But there was nothing like such, just corridors that changed at every corner. Raines punched a wall, as if it made a difference. "--this is obviously a Paradox..."
Tidus held her sword, thrusting it into the soil she stood on. "--are you sure?"
"What other reason would this place have in trapping us here? Walls do not appear on their own."
Raines found himself sitting against the wall, in a destructive daze of regret and annoyance. His want of knowledge of the land where the woman hailed led them into this trap. It was his fault. And he knew it. But Tidus wouldn't be the one to blame something on another. He knew she'd be just as optimistic.
The hot air of the ruins wasn't exactly helping. Even with the two of them saving energy and preventing extra heat with the lack of movement, it was obvious that they would need to find a way out of this trapped room and find water and fast. The heat was definitely extreme; soon they began to remove articles of clothing.
"--Turn around, w-will ya?" Tidus inquired to the General.
"--Do you honestly believe I care about your naked body at this point in time..Tidus...T-that...is the last thing on my mind..."
Even so, after stripping down to what decency they had for each other, they found themselves still ever hot, in the boiling room. The Blitz Ace, after many hours, began to doze off.
"N-no, Tidus...do not do this to me...Stay awake, you hear me?!" The older male's eyes widened, pulling the girl into his lap to look into her eyes. Oceanic hues were dulling. Her life was fading.
'There are always choices that one makes in life. There are no right or wrong choices. Only what we believe to be so.'
The Primarch's hand reached for the pouch on his leg, grabbing the canteen of water. There was barely any left. He knew that if he had pulled it out before, Tidus would have told him to keep it for himself. Opening it up, he moved it to her mouth, but a weak nudge prevented him from pouring it.
"--I knew ya had something...always...holding out..." Tidus's voice was weak and barely audible. "--I don't want it...save it..for yourself.
"This is my fault, not...yours..stop..being stubborn, or we will both die here..."
"--don't start.... At...least we had some fun for once, right...?"
A smile on the Blitzer's face, she hugged against him a bit closer, closing her eyes for the final time.
Soon afterwards, the male's body began to steady, his heartbeat began to slow..
The canteen in his hand fell from it, pouring into the soil that was Zanarkand Ruins.
Mun Note: I was almost tempted to have Raines and Tidus do some fighting, but I couldn't decide what they would fight. In addition to that, it would've had Raines and Tidus say something cheesy; a zaney one liner like: 'Looks to be another late night, hmm, Tidus?' and 'I suppose this game just went into overtime!' Ignore me, I'm a bad writer.
