Given is fundamentally a story about second loves, letting go of the past and finding ways to move forward and heal.
It’s nice because in a lot of gay comics, the attraction and subsequent relationship is entirely new and unprecedented. And there’s an appeal to that kind of story, too, but the second-love angle is a refreshing approach.
