Fuyu no Hanashi (English)

Okay here’s the thing.  I did it.  And I really wanted to make a recorded version to show how they fit nicely with the melody and also I just like recording stuff but this one was a real bitch and I’m super unhappy with the result.  I was out last night until 4:30am recording the last half of it in my car because the idea that my bf might have to hear me sing that first verse even one more time became that unbearable.  And after everything, my butchered attempt at making an instrumental track threw the frequencies SO OUTTA WACK that the final balance by garageband made me sound like a Yoplait Tubes commercial.  

Really, the only thing I was proud of to begin with was my translation, which I’ve had ready for almost a week now, so I’m sick of putting it off.  If anyone more talented than I would like to do a version, shoot me a message bc I would love to hear it and even link it here somewhere.

For anybody interested in the process, I used three different translations ( 1 / 2 / 3 ) to try and find the closest and (my perceived) truest intention behind the words.  Obviously I had to change some stuff around to avoid repetition (the final chorus is literally “you’re here with me inside of me you’ll always be with me”....) as well as to make it fit into traditional english verse, but I tried to stay as close to the literal translation as possible.  Pictured is a side by side comparison of my very first notes against my final draft.  Let me know what you think / whether there are lines you would change!

Anyway, bummed that it didn't work out quite the way I wanted to present it, but I wanted to share it with you guys anyway since I couldn't seem to shut up about it. Maybe when someone drops a real instrumental I'll give it another go 🙃 or not

why is this japanese channel that put songs about doomed gays from an anime posting ai slop (at least for some thumbnails im unsure about the actual music) and judge judy videos???? i don’t think they even posted videos before it was just music???
