I started eATLanta to highlight all the amazing food and chefs around Atlanta, to put a spotlight on the food culture that is happening around Atlanta that isn’t just fried chicken and mashed potatoes. And to celebrate the people who are working day in and day out to help provide Atlantans with a veritable cornucopia of culinary choices all over our great city. Behind those meals are people that work very hard, in tight spaces, over hot stoves and ovens making magic happen on plates. 

The Giving Kitchen supports those people by providing grants to those affected by hardships and accidents, from flooded apartments, to fires, to car accidents. Founded by Jen and Ryan Hidinger, it exists to support the food and beverage industry when they need it the most, in times of great need. To that end, every year they host The Restaurant Revival for TGK volunteers and food/beverage workers of the city, celebrating their hard work and educating them to the mission of The Giving Kitchen. It’s a great event, with amazing food and drinks, hosted by the fine folks at Sweetwater Brewery.
