Blind Date - ☽

Trevor is leaning against the building nervously shuffling back and forth a few steps. He really did love the idea of a blind date but now that he was actually in the moment it was scarier than he thought it would be. The idea of maybe someone he didn’t like, or didn’t know showing up was equally as scary as the idea of someone that he knew well walking up to him. That’s why instead of something serious like dinner or coffee he chose to meet up at a place that was just off of campus.  The sign above his head reads Big Air. It’s a huge trampoline park that in case no romantic feelings were present --- the fun date would at least be enough to break the ice. He thinks about what Meredith told him. He needed to show a balance of his serious and playful side. Mostly he just hoped he wasn’t a disappointment to his date. The thought of being one scared him more than anything. He sees a girl walking up who looks familiar from campus and a grin comes over his face pulling the sunglasses off of his eyes and into his pocket he opens his arms to hug the girl.

talan couldn’t care less about valentine’s day, he thought it was overrated and cheap — not saying he was a romantic type of guy but he had three sisters and a single mom, he thought every day should be a special day for loved ones — but it was something to do and meet someone new, so he wasn’t going to pass up the opportunity. and if he was lucky, he could be paired up with someone his type that he never noticed before. it really wasn’t a lose situation for him. 

arriving at consiglio's, talan mention his reservation to the hostess but told her he wanted to wait for the other. though it was busy, thankfully she understood it was a blind date and she would cover for him. talan normally would've ignored waiting so he could decide on his order and get a few drinks in to loosen him up, but he knew meeting someone for the first time was alway the most awkward. especially the position they were in, to sign up and trust whoever that was in charge to set them up with someone. so, he thought they could meet prior to going to their table and see if there was any type of good connection that would reassure the date being a good one.

So apparently a blind date wasn't a date with a hot blind person - which was the first misconception that came into Santiago's head when he drunkenly signed up to do this in the first place. Was it the smartest decision that he could have made? Probably not. Yet here he was anyway, at a Cuban restaurant nonetheless. Though he was not even nervous at all, just casually smiling as he drummed his fingers against the table and idly checked social media on his phone. He was relatively dressed for the ocassion - loafers, khakis, Polo button up.

Of course he had a game plan - if they were annoying mid-date he'd drop a hundred dollar bill and leave, if they were not up to his appearance standards he'd just leave. He reached for one of the pieces of authentic Cuban bread that was on the table, already hungry from his whole five minute s of waiting. Growing impatient, he let out another groan before he saw somebody approaching the table. "Blind date?" he asked in a muffled voice, mouth full of bread before swallowing. "Blind date?" he repeated more clearly, offering a smile.

Janette didn't know the first things about blind dates. She thought maybe it would be fun to try out something new for once. So she signed up for a date and thought it would be a good night out. She really had no idea what to wear, so she threw on a black dress, black heels, and some pearls. She curled her long blonde hair and put on some red lipstick. She decided to meet her date outside of a nice Italian place right outside campus. She played around on her phone till she saw someone approach her.

This entire evening wasn’t exactly what Clara had originally planned to have been doing on the day before Valentine’s Day. She was sure that her weekend would consist of her down at the station playing shitty love tunes or working on her homework assignments until all of the love birds left campus; leaving it free for her to wander about without going noticed. But another year without a Valentine seemed to depressing, hell even her mindset had been depressing her so she knew this was something that she should do. Not to mention she knew that all her friends were either going to be shacked away in a house off campus or on the blind dates them selves; so who else would be around to hang out? Right? Not to mention the idea of potentially meeting someone that would interest her for the evening was quite exciting. Surely there had to have been someone lurking around campus that she had never even thought about going on a date with before. 

Her mind began to race around as she got closer to her final destination, the sound of her heels almost becoming faster until she realized that she was practically running. “Calm down,” she laughed at herself, knowing that’s all she could do at that point as she approached the sand, shivering as the cool air brushed against her cheeks. Hammonasset Beach State Park was her meet up location of choice for one very logical reason -- they weren’t allowed to be there. But she couldn’t help it, knowing that this would be the prettiest place to spend the evening, even if it would be a bit crisp in the evening air. She set down a few blankets into the sand, nervously taking a seat as she looked down at her phone. There was no text, no call, not a single indication that anyone would even bother to show up.

Tiffany was that one girl that believed that valentine’s day was nothing but a a fake holiday that all it was good for was to raise the sale on chocolate and flowers all over the world. Nonetheless her love live had been a disaster in the past few months, perhaps joining the whole valentine madness wouldn’t be such a bad idea. And so something that was totally unlike her happened, she decided to sign up for the annual greek valentine event, the blind date. At first she hadn’t thought much of it, what could possibly go wrong, but when the day came around, she began to feel totally nervous about it. What if she got pared with someone she already knew, or worst someone she couldn’t tolerate, and knowing her that was pretty high.

Nonetheless she began to get ready for the date, even with the nervousness on the pit of her stomach. Once she was ready she took the note that had been deliver to her again, marking the place and time, putting it away in her clutch she left the Kappa house, got into her car that with the snow gone it was able to be drove around once again. Loudly roaring the engine around town she made her way, recklessly and almost dangerously parking right outside the restaurant, she laughed at ballet parking boys face and kindly handed them the keys, “Enjoy.” She said before walking into the restaurant, looking around not sure what to look for.
