Highlights from the Matt Braly AMA:
-Anne is a “delightful person” who will put off telling people about the Guardian for as long as physically possible
-The Core Ball in the basement was likely dismantled by Olivia
-Matt wishes we had spent more time with Frobo
-There IS an olm language translation but it is “buried in the Disney archives now”
-Grime was singled out to get his arm chopped off early on, Matt found it crazy that people were predicting Sasha would lose her eye
-There is very little Matt would change, except maybe have Anne mention Marcy/Sasha more in s3
-Matt wants people to expect Clara to be like “a cool Disneyland ride”
-Strange Voyage in 3 words: “it’s like Rapunzel”
-Anne is a copy CONFIRMED. Kinda. “It is a copy that is for all intents and purposes the same thing” is the direct phrasing. No answer about consciousness transfer or souls or anything, but take of that as you will.
-Matt has read a few fics but it’s been a while. He likes swap AUs!
-Clara has been in his head for years now and was considering making it a kids book before the Sony movie got cancelled
-Anne still eats bugs
-Maddie’s sexuality is “swamp witch”
-Marcy’s steam page is mostly cozy games with the random Resident Evil thrown in
-Hardest Thing is his favorite episode
-“stay tuned for more on Darcy”
-Drosselmeyer in CATB was once human
-if Anne had stayed dead she probably would’ve become a Christ-Like figure in Amphibia and Sasharcy would’ve been stuck there “doing god knows what”
-Matt is “90% sure” Sasha’s eye color is blue and the brown eyes was an animation error
-The invasion happened around Anne’s birthday but not exactly on it. Sasharcy were visiting early and planned the stay the week with Anne
-The 11-minute board driven show style is completely dead. No one is watching and no one is buying. Matt has no idea if it’ll ever come back.
-Anne was so convinced that Marcy wasn’t dead that her brain refused the possibility to consider otherwise
-the reason Sasha and Marcy get less focus in s3 is because they dominated Anne’s mental space in s1 and 2. They wanted s3 to really focus on her connection to the plantars.
-Strange Voyage was written to be the last bit of Amphibia story, but Disney is apparently very interested in making more content for it. Maybe something for the 10 year anniversary in 2029?
-The Terri bit in Marcy’s journal wasn’t a reference any definitive new content but more for people to springboard off of. ATM he has no new content planned beyond strange voyage and anything else would need to be very carefully considered.
-Polly remembers Anne but has different opinions than Sprig regarding their adventure
-Sasha being bi is a reflection of the VA. It is “good fuel for Sasha’s complicated feelings towards Anne specifically”
-The idea of Sasha landing in wartwood is very funny to him
-Grime probably has a prosthetic he uses to play the harp
-In the original plot for True Colors they wanted Marcy to take up arms against Sasha and Anne but decided it wouldn’t be in character
-Marcy’s ultimate sin was believing and acting like she was the main character of life, s3 is meant to be a timeout for her, a “Princess Peach” situation
