history fun fact: gladiators are for playing dress-up
(actually, he gave them to everyone)
Marcus gazes upon his daughter and he thinks back to the day Bellona placed her in his arms. She was a small babe but her cries rang throughout the camp like a war horn and she would only be soothed by her father's voice, bouncing from side to side as he went through different strategies. His friend and Captain of his armies, Quintus, always laughed when he told of how the feared Marcus Acacius discussed invasion plans with the other commanders with a baby girl strapped to his chest - of how he would take every one of her babbles as if it was an excellent question and jump to another point to answer it.
(“sic semper tyrannis” on AO3, featuring Marcus Acacius being the best father in all of Rome and his unhinged demigod daughter)

Soooo, Gladiator OC anyone?
I kinda had this girl in mind for quite some time now and i needed a bit of redrawings and all until i was happy with her final design now. Also this was great chance to draw a lil sketch of Macrinus for the first time, probably going to draw more of him, bc Denzel ROCKS.
Ariadne is a slave of Macrinus and kind of his right hand. She is originally from Greece, where she grew up as a priestess in the Temple of Apollo in Delphi. From her early childhood, she was meant to become a Pythia, an oracle, but on a pilgrimage her ship got raided by pirates in the Aegean sea. Those pirates sold the captured people to slave traders, which was why Ariadne ended up on a slave market in Rome, where Macrinus bought her. He raised Ariadne, who was 13-years old back then, to trick the Roman upper class as an oracle scam to manipulate gladiator and chariot race bets.
Over the years Macrinus developed a soft spot for the young woman, which he treated better than the other slaves he owned. He never laid a hand on her. In a way she became more like a 'daughter' to the older man, even though he still manipulated her to do things that would be in his advantage such as seducing Emperor Geta (who tried to buy her a couple of times to make her his concubine, but Macrinus always declined).
Beside her role as an oracle, she helped Ravi caring for the wounds of Macrinus' gladiators and often used these moments to talk with them - a little bit like a therapist sometimes. During that, she got in contact with Macrinus' latest purchase: Hanno.
Feel free to ask me about Ariadne or interact with her through your own OCs.

thank you for the tag @nightswatchyaoi sorry this took a while
some marcus acacius x oc from a one-shot lying in my drafts i am trying to finish off
"You should not be out here,” Marcus suddenly said from the archway behind her, startling Claudia. "You will catch your death."
Claudia recovered herself, exhaling sharply. "Those about to die," she then said cryptically, tilting her head back as he came forwards, looming over her. "We are all doomed, General, whether by rain or sword."
Marcus merely raised his eyebrows, seemingly amused, the expression foreign on his usually stoic features. Wordlessly, he reached out to wind one of her crimped curls around his finger, before letting it rebound back into its original coil of ebony. He glanced down, only to catch Claudia frowning under the shade of her palla, clearly taken aback his uncharacteristic levity. Abruptly, he turned away from her, facing the storming heavens instead. Once again, he had acted without thinking. He knew it was a weakness on his part, yet following his instincts had always proven fortuitous on the battlefield. War or woman, it did not matter. He always intended to win. Yet such logic abandoned him when he looked upon Claudia's face, leaving him at a loss.
