Other thing I’ve learned from the cores in such a short time

Modern life really isn’t meeting our needs huh

I feel like the cores aren’t just for the Aesthetic; it kinda feels like this generation’s way of expressing our dissatisfaction with modern life in a healthy way. Of pinpointing and addressing the things that our current societies aren’t providing us with:

Goblincore—a freedom to not be restrained and “proper,” to express what one wants and follow one’s passion for the little things, to love who they are and not feel the need to change it.

Corvidcore—an understanding of the value of things that aren’t “necessary” (read: directly convenient to hyper-capitalist systems), and that beauty can be found anywhere.

Cottagecore—an acceptance of all kinds of ways to live, a recognition of the importance of peace, nature, and a balance of community and self-reliance to human well-being.

Glamourpunk—an understanding of emotional intelligence and its importance, an openness to the unknown, an embracing of what’s wild and scary, what shakes you to your core.

Fairycore—an appreciation of the sweet things in life, of the inherent magic and wonder of our world, and knowing that not everything happy and light is automatically fake.

Mooncore—a freedom to be hopeful, a freedom to enjoy the little things of life and to know that they’re important, a freedom to love innocently and wholeheartedly.

Adventurecore—a knowledge that not everything needs to follow a structure, that going off the beaten path and trying something that no one’s ever done before isn’t inherently “crazy” or “impractical.”

And so on.

All I’m saying is, keep this up, everyone. Don’t let these attitudes die.

If we make that promise, then I can’t wait till we become adults.

Glamourpunk, Seeliepunk, and Unseeliepunk

Idk how terms get coined on this site but imma coin some terms.

Glamourpunk is a general term for the modern-day faery aesthetic.

What’s that, you ask? Well, it’s not really the sweet and tiny sort of flower fairies—though it can incorporate that style. It’s faeries in a sense that’s closer to the original mythology. Think of all the dark faery writing prompts and stuff you might see on certain corners of Tumblr. Something is glamourpunk if you could imagine that kind of fae, integrated into city society, wearing or looking like that.

It’s edgy, it’s stylish, it’s youth/party culture, but with an otherworldly magical twist.

(The “glamour,” for those who know faery lore, refers to faerie magic and illusion/enchantment.)

There’s also seeliepunk and unseeliepunk, which would be similar but more specifically based on the main courts. Basically optional subsets of glamourpunk.
