Working on my cleaning the lake personal project today and I found this piece of #lakeglass made from an old #glassinsulator I used to collect these, so finding a piece worn by time and water was cool. I'll be keeping it on my tea desk I think. Also, fellow #naturalist out there, when you come across a pile of lake deritus (reeds, driftwood, dried algae) just loaded with plastic and garbage, do you pick out the garbage or just remove the entire pile? I know stuff is used as nesting material. Most my cleaning projects have been forests and swamps, so curious about lakes. #ecology #lakecleanup #lakemonona #electricinsulator #earthday #antique #everydayisearthday #recycleyourtrash #stoppollution #madisonlake

Day 121 of 365 - Whitehall Tatum Co. No. 2 Insulator - Whitall Tatum entered the insulator manufacturing market in 1922, mass-producing them for use on power and communications lines across the country. This one was produced at the W.T.CO.'s glassworks in Millville New Jersey between 1922 and 1938. The Millville glassworks went through a number of owners and produced glass almost continuously for 193 years before closing in 1999. #glassinsulator #glassphotography #millville #365 #365photochallenge2022 #lumecube #omsystems #olympuspenf #macro Olympus PEN-F M.Zuiko Digital 30mm f/3.5 Macro 1/320s | f/9.0 | ISO 400 Lume Cube LC-Panel 1 LED Light Panel (at Virginia Beach, Virginia) https://www.instagram.com/p/CdCZXNHO3hT/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
