Why Mischa isn’t the most romantic boy in town:
Yes, Mischa is a romantic person, but that comes from his passion. He’s passionate about showing Talia he loves her. He’s passionate about making music. He yells in the musical about how he’s angry with Canada bc one of its biggest (I can’t remember if it was import or export) is uranium, the thing that killed his mother. He uses a whole song to get his anger out because he is so passionate about his emotions. He’s passionate about Ukrainian tradition and culture. Example: get this cousin alcohol for his birthday, the song Talia is full of tradition and culture, and for Jane Doe’s birthday he managed to get alcohol. The choir members are all in an afterlife type place, so Mischa is so passionate about tradition he was able to Will it into existence. Through out the musical we see him get extremely excited about the others talents and songs, he’s passionate about life in general. Mischa is purposely doing things and ignoring things he knows because he wants to be able to have strong reactions to things, he NEEDS to be passionate. Negative or positive, he does everything with passion.
Mischa kissed Noel in his song because Noel was showing how much he wanted that life, his passion for it. He gave Noel alcohol because Noel had never experienced the excitement he yearned for, and Mischa wants him to have it, because he can’t imagine not living life to the fullest.
We also have to remember that Karnak used the kids perceptions of themselves for their labels. Mischa probably doesn’t see himself as romantic, that’s just how he thinks you should treat the person you love. But you know what he does see himself as? Ukrainian. He takes a lot of pride in his homeland so it makes sense he would want to be described with a trait common of the men from there. He says it in his intro video on YouTube that he’s proud of Ukrainian men having passion. He wants passion, wether it’s anger or love.
Mischa isn’t the most romantic boy in town because he doesn’t want to be.
Noel on the other hand romanticized tragedy.
He romanticized any life other then his.
Noel had never pursued and relationships or tried to enjoy his life because they wouldn’t be able to live up to the romanticized stories he dreamed of
Noel WAS the most romantic boy in town, just not the way everyone is interpreting the label. But if you want to try and fit Noel into that interpretation, it’s not hard.
I think it’s a well known theory that Noel loved Mischa. When he was offered to view what life with Talia would be like, Noel stopped him. He didn’t want to ruin Mischa’s perfect future, but why? Tragedy and heartbreak are things Noel loves, if it were anyone else I think he would not only let them see, he would be excited to see it fall apart. But he loves Mischa, he’s willing to pass on a chance for tragedy in order to protect his feelings, and that’s one of the most romantic things I can think of.
Both the boys show love and romance, but one lived for passion, the other lived for a chance at a different, romanticized life.
Noel deserves to be the most Romantic boy in town.
Mischa deserves to have his title changed from the angriest boy to the most passionate boy in town.
