(This is hella spontaneous and im just in a writing mood now. No need to reply if you aren’t feeling it)
This had been their fourth camp in a moon. The soft meadow grass made a refreshingly soft makeshift nest in place of the cliff ledges and trees they had sought shelter in before. Still, there was something unnerving about being so out in the open when Coralpaw had spent all of her life curled between brambles and nested against rocks. She had not been sleeping well. Hopefully soon the Hillclan medicinecat would know where they were off to next. Light begun to creep over the torbies ginger and white pelt. She blinked several times to adjust to the sun’s blinding gold rays before locking on a figure several fox lengths ahead of her. It was Sunblaze
Of course
Her mentor had a way about him that she found both endearing and infuriating. Though perhaps that was more her aversion to training than actually spending time with the ginger tom. He was kind, safe, a pretty good teacher. All things said Coralpaw didn’t really have any complaints about Sunblaze overall. When the majority of Snowclan had decided to follow Hillclan away from their destroyed mountain home, both clans had been put in a tedious position. They were without a leader- and no leader quickly meant several things to many cats. Number one, judging by the competition among young warriors- there was a very desirable opening to be filled. Number two, there were a number of cats who would soon be in need of mentors and no cat to assign them one.
The process of picking out a mentor for each of the young cats had been challenging. Some warriors felt naturally inclined to certain apprentices- they would offer their teaching to a young cat and more often than not, they would accept. Not in Coralpaws case. After learning it was an unwritten rule of sorts to not let family teach family- She quickly ran out of options on just who she actually wanted. Dragonstep was her first choice, and then her aunt Frozenfur the second. After much insistence by her mother, Redflower. A fitting cat was finally selected to be Sunblaze. She supposed it could have been worse. Cinderclaw had been just as keen on getting an apprentice, as most were to avoiding him becoming their mentor. Thankfully no one had been put through that torture. Coralpaw had been making decent progress. Sunblaze was very attentive with her training, finding reasons for the two of them to go on extra patrols and hunting parties whenever possible. It had sharpened the young shecats senses and given her some brilliant hunting skills- a beginner though she may be. So despite anything, she couldn’t help but smile as Maplepaw ran from his fathers side to Redflowers, touching noses briefly with her mother before they headed out on their own training expedition and leaving Coralpaw free to greet her mentor in the early morning light. “Goodmoh-moh mohrning, Sunblaze.” She managed through a yawn. Shaking her pelt out to fluff it and eliminate any stubborn dewdrops from her white whiskers. “What do we have planned for today?”

"No, I told you- swish your paw like this." The blackened tom instructed, casting out his white taloned toes to swipe at the ground. His claws raked into the dirt bringing up a sizable clod of soil and grass roots before flicking his wrist to send it flying towards a bickering pair of seasoned warriors. Owlbreath cast the apprentice a meaningful glare before turning back to his mentor Crowflower. The two fortunately seemed too preoccupied with their own conversation to interrupt his instructing Sweetlilly.
He had heard someone awhile ago whispering about the two of them, that Shadowpaw shouldn't be belittling her position anything and that he “Had a long way to go before he would be able to teach anyone anything.” Since that captured snippet of gossip, Shadowpaws irritability had only increased and little by little he was becoming more frustrated with Sweetlily’s inability to grasp the move he had just made up. “Are you blind!?” he growled at the molly’s latest failed attempt. Shadowpaw rose up onto all fours, tail lashing while he paced back and fourth, watching her head to flank. “How did you even make it to your warrior ceremony with aim like this?”
