We’re doing a Q&A on Loser Like Me!
Send us questions about Season 3 of Glee (which we just finished watching), Season 2 of The Glee Project (which we’ll be watching next), ship opinions, food, other stuff the cast has done….whatever!
mike chang is the most loyal/ best friend out of glee club and no one ever talks about it- let’s talk about it.
- when kurt was getting harassed by karofsky in season 2, mike showed no hesitation in standing up for him and was the first one to say “we’re done talking about this”, representing his desire to take action for the people he cares about
- when blaine got hurt by the warblers (namely sebastian) in season 3, he was one of the few people immediately ready and willing to take action against them. this is further shown by artie seeing him and nobody else from the choir room in his dream-song sequence. everyone seems to know he’ll be the first to stand up for his friends.
- he never really has arguments or drama with anyone in the glee club but tina, and that’s just the drama of their relationship/breakup. even when they do break up, he’s incredibly mature about it, making sure tina knows he still cares about her and wants to be a friend to her. when mike and tina first got together and artie was very clearly jealous and taking action to attempt to break up their relationship, mike didn’t dislike him for it. he just accepted that was how he felt & moved on with his life, ending up being a great friend to him. he’s overall just very conflict avoidant and friendly. (this can even be seen in mercedes rendition of “it’s all over.” his line is that he has nothing to do with the conflict, that its not his business. this is generally how he is)
- mike consistently takes time to help glee club members and alumni. he helps will do “booty camp” which has to be very time consuming. he takes extended amounts of time with tina to become a better singer for the sake of the club & musical. he works closely with people who aren’t even in glee club- football members- to help them learn to dance & make his work (i.e. west side story audition) better. whenever the graduated members of glee club need help with the current members, mike is there to give his time doing choreography or teaching lessons. everyone knows they can call on mike, because he happily gives long periods of his time, that he could be spending to do anything else, to his friends.
literally no one is as genuinely kind and loyal as mike is, let’s be honest.
"I love girls the way that I'm supposed to feel about boys. It's just something that's always been inside of me, and I really want to share it with you because I love you so much. I want you to know me. Who I really am. When I'm with Brittany, I finally understand what people are talking about when they talk about love. I've tried so hard to push this feeling away, and keep it locked inside, but every day just feels like a war. I walk around so mad at the world, but I'm really just fighting with myself. I don't want to fight anymore. I'm just too tired. I have to just be me." ➪ Glee - Season 3, Episode 7 "I Kissed A Girl"
