i dont like mirrors much irl (they are dissociation fuel), so i was very compelled by the option to NOT look in the mirror. i was a little disappointed that it didn't really come up in conversation though.

You find him sitting on a cliff, not far from town. You stand in the treeline and stare for a moment. Reuben's yellow fur is tousled by the ocean breeze, like a dandelion stuck in a tug of war. He's small, but sturdy. The forces of nature won't gobble him up. They reach towards him, but they can't quite hold him. The wind grabs greedily, and the grass dances around his hands. The sea... is just there. In constant crescendo. Asking for nothing.

(spent the last few days writing what has turned into the longest single piece of fiction ive written in my life so far. over 12k. my previous PB was like, under 4k.)
