Hey guys, Admin Geoff here-- I’m so sorry that I haven’t been updating the main NOR been on Mason. Things have been stressful as of lately and my muse tanked and I should have taken a hiatus but I forgot to officially put myself on hiatus. ANYHOW. Since people should be showing up again due to hiatuses ending soon, we’re going to make a SPIRIT WEEK. Next Friday, September 26th, will be the Homecoming Football game (played on August 26th, as usual).
Here’s the events of spirit week:
Retro Day. Dress in your favorite time period from the 90s or below! Those of you who don’t participate may be mocked, however, it is not school mandatory to participate in any of the themed events. Today is also the day that you get to submit your Homecoming Queen and King Nominations. Please submit them to the main.
Twin Tuesday. Dress up with your best friend as the same person or if you were twins. For actual twins, well.......... try to be original. Principal Figgins would like to note that making fun of anyone during this day will be counted as bullying and you will get detention.
Upper Classmen vs. Lower Classmen. All throughout breaks and lunch and afterschool, there will be games for lower classmen and upper classmen to participate in. The Class Winners will have bragging rights and twice the tickets to spend on Carnival Day. Remember, tickets will be the currency for the fair.
Carnival Day. Clubs and sports teams will be hosting various booths at this carnival that starts at Lunch and goes until 9PM at night. Afternoon classes are canceled for those who will attend. For those who do not attend- you must attend classes. The Thunderclap staff will have photo booths set up all over the fair- come and take Polaroids with your best friend or significant other that could also be featured in this year’s thunderclap!
Homecoming Day. Wear school colors and show your spirit. The Glee Club will be performing their most spirited song at a pep rally for the game at lunch. The Cheerios will also be performing a cheer at the same pep rally. Voting for homecoming King and Queen will begin today (from 12AM EST)
Homecoming Dance. The theme this year is Moulin Rouge. Tickets are $20 with ASB Cards and $25 without. Dates from other schools are allowed, however, they have to be under the age of 21. Voting ends for Homecoming King and Queen at 6PM EST. Winners will be announced at 8PM EST. There will potentially be a neatchat if people are interested in playing Homecoming Dance out for the entire weekend.
