mirage all but stumbles out of a what looks to be ... an employee entrance? from a building, out onto the sidewalk. he’s crouched over, waddling as he cradles something in his arms. it’s smoking - not steaming, smoking - and the holo-magician unleashes a hearty bout of coughing, being that his face is rather in the source of it. after a moment of drawing attention, he slowly unfurls himself, pausing, then all at once thrusting a disheveled-looking block of metal and wiring into the sky.

“ I go outside for one second, and what happens? The place is throwing a party that’s not even for me. How DARE they! ” Who would have thought a casual shopping trip would end with him stomping around in a place full of oddly shaped balloons? Certainly not him. Not knowing what the whole celebration was for only made him bitter, despite having a rather pleasant day overall. Last he knew, there wasn’t anything worth celebrating to justify having these annoying rubbery things bumping into him. No matter how much he swatted, it seemed the wind just loved to have the black ones drifting close to him.

“ Stupid balloons. Stupid city. Just you wait until I have a kingdom once more. This place will regret not celebrating my every waking momen-- Oh hello. W h a t   a   s i g h t   f o r   s o r e   e y e s . ”

     Just like that, the switch from foul mood to surprised is flipped. Shopping bags are carelessly tossed back into inventory, allowing him to quickly scurry towards the strangely dressed man he’d spotted just down the road.

“ YOO-HOOOO~! Man in the obscure attire! Yes, you... Mind if I ask the reason behind these balloons? Preferably the name of the person this celebration is dedicated to? Maybe their address as well? ”

“I should probably go to that marketplace and get some new weapons or something. These Wood Gai Gu are starting to wear down too much.” They did serve him well throughout his time fighting and practicing though. Hmm, he could probably go for some food too.

The visor of his helm shone bright at night. Even in the absence of his identity obscuring aura the knight cloaked his black armor in shadow. The glare of red was a warning to those who deigned to come too close as he lurked in the alleyway of this ward. ‘Home’ was no home to him, and the knight - when he was aware - knew he made his roommates uncomfortable.

It was not as though he needed to sleep, wraith of a man as he was.

So as the other walked by his perch, the Berserker could only let a low growl, an inhuman noise, as a warning not to come closer.

his apartment door shuts with a subtle click. he debates locking it - one of his roommates is there. is that normal? the security obsession people from this era have is still very bizarre to him, but he doesn’t sweat about locking the door before bounding down to the lobby.

“er - whoa,” he mutters, lurching to one side before his back straightens ram-rod. “sorry ‘bout that...”
