Glen Keith 18 1993/2012 MBl The Maltman (51,5 %)

Glen Keith nå, og en tapning fra Meadowside Blending, som har en serie ved navn The Maltman. Den er destillert i 1993 og tappet i 2012, og er 18 år gammel.

På nesen fikk jeg vanilje, malt, litt peppermynte, stikkelsbær, marsipan, honning og grønne epler, og et hint av brøddeig. Smaken var preget av malt, mint, litt plommer, krydder og pære, mens avslutningen var en anelse «sur», med maltsødme først, men så kom det inn en del sitrus, slangeagurk (!) og trebitterhet. Med vann var nesen stadig preget av vanilje og mint, men ikke fullt så skarp nå, og litt vingummi. Smaken fikk mer malt og pære, og litt brøddeignoter igjen. Avslutningen ble kortere, med malt og vanilje.

En tydelig bourbonfatlagret whisky dette, og ganske «grønn» først. Deignotene og de litt sure trekkene drar den litt ned for min del, men nesen var jo grei.
