In Karst Country, the video below, Glen Ryan takes the tried-and-true nature time-lapse to a new level, using infrared filters to photograph invisible wavelengths of light. The result is a gorgeous montage of landscapes, the hills and skies of the countryside near Wee Jasper, Australia, captured in eerie black and white hues. The video is part of a larger project also called Karst Country -- referring to the limestone rock formations in the area -- pairing Ryan's infrared images with colorful landscape paintings by Phil Ryan. On Vimeo, Ryan notes that he plans to turn the short, created for a gallery exhibit, into a longer piece in collaboration with James van der Moezel.
