Rain Rain....
There is seriously something beautiful about a summer rain. It starts out with a rumble in the distance...then slowly I see the sprinkles coming down knocking leaves, and plants as they descend...then I can hear the trickle of water running through the downspout. Its beautiful. Its perfect. My favorite Blogger Glennon at Momastery is leading this movement called....#Wabisabi. Its to celebrate the perfection of imperfections. Finding beauty in the broken. She encourages us to put on "perspectacles" and see our messy lives with gratitude.
As silly as it may sound, it is really helping me to see my life how I truly want to live it. I want to take my kids on an amazing vacation next year....I was thinking something hugely over priced, with flashy hotels, and bright lights....but now I want to show them things.... like the wonder of mammoth caves, the amazing grand canyon, the colors of the ocean, the expanse of the Niagara falls. I want them to be fully immersed with our country.
I love this. I embrace it. I hope my hubby does too.....
So no, rain forecasted for the entire labor day weekend is not perfect. But here in Michigan, it helps our crops grow, is keeps our grass green, it keeps the trees greener (if only for a little while longer). I helps us stay closer to our families. It will give me a good reason to get my classroom ready for the school year!!
SO I am grateful for this weather. I am grateful for so many things.
