Hello Friends, here’s an update as March gets underway!
I hope to be getting the ringtone package to you very soon. First we'd like to come up with a way to combine some of them with visuals for old-time’s sake, and include them in the package. Like this Random Kindness Rainbow. A lot of them are just so much better with a visual reference!
I’m right in the thick of arranging the music that will appear on the Soundscapes of Ur collection. It’s pretty hard! The first part of the process is getting all the raw sections I need for each track into one file, which is a challenge because of the way I created them in the first place (as separate files). Some of the software I’m using does not like this! Then it’s finding an organic flow to the pieces without changing all the stuff you love about it. For those of you that spent hundreds of hours with the music on (really?!) you’ll notice some differences. I’m thinking that I’ll make all the original tracks available in some form in case there’s really something you’re missing about the original format.
Here are a couple of stabs at arranging the Uralia music. Soundcloud allows you to make comments so feel free to get in there and give feedback.
The Glitch Variations should be a lot easier as it’s mostly a matter of some fine-tuning and having beginnings and endings -- so I've decided to leave them till I have a good handle on all the Soundscapes tracks.
Also, check out this remix of the Rube Song from Xavier. This is how he always meant this song to sound. I’ve often had the experience where I’ve played a track for somebody in the early stages, and learned that if they actually like it, I won’t have much luck changing anything about it without them saying “I liked the first version better”. It's often frustrating. This time I got to experience this from the other side. I love this remix, but there's a nostalgia for the first version that I heard a kajillion times that's hard to let go of! Don't worry, both versions will be included!
