STI talk under the cut

Third herpes outbreak of my life happening! I’ve found my pattern after having HSV for a year and a half. It’s work stress. Like clockwork, if I have an exceptionally stressful day at work, I have an outbreak like 4 days later. 

My last one (2 months ago) lasted about 5 days; I’m hoping this one will be about the same. Day 3 happening and it unfortunately seems to be taking its time. 

Salt soaks & long sleeps ahead. I gotta make myself one of those tea tree oil and coconut oil sticks...

man it’s so interesting to think, like

my blood is different now than a few months ago before my contraction.

when I die and my body is shown at the funeral, people will be looking at me and I’ll be laying there not alone, but buried with the virus that is as sure in my body as my bones and skin

my spit is weaponized, my blood is weaponized

this virus will be with me longer than any partner, any friend, and in thinking of it like that, i’ve learned to love it as part of me.

and that being said, hsv is the chillest life partner; mostly resting in my spinal ganglia; hasn’t bothered me a bit, it’s just along for the ride, another being in my body, as constant as my shadow.

HSV Update!

I just realized it’s been a while since I’ve talked about this. STI talk below!

So I contracted it in November (I think) and was diagnosed in December when I had my first out break, which lasted about 2 weeks and a few days and was about a 5-6 at the worst on the pain scale. All in all, tolerable. It’s now June and I haven’t had another outbreak! Nothing.

So a reminder for the newly diagnosed, you never know how it’s going to go. It COULD be chill as hell. I was expecting the worst, like... outbreaks every few weeks or something but it hasn’t been SHIT. It’s awesome, actually.
