Agreed, and I think it’s both an enabler of and sign of America’s “beer culture.”
In many states, there are still “blue laws” in effect, meaning stores & restaurants won’t sell any alcohol at certain times; for NC, those times are between 2am-7am Monday-Saturday, and 2am-Noon on Sundays. And in NC, if you want something harder than beer or wine, you still need to go to a specialty store.
But that’s about the only limit I know of, and even that’s getting challenged in some places. A recent bill was recently passed here in NC allowing counties to decide if their restaurants will serve alcohol on Sunday mornings, because some (white) people just gotta have mimosas with their Sunday brunch.
