Ok, after lots of hard work at school this past year, it is time for Sea Project #2!!! I will be sailing on a tanker with OSG, which I am super excited about! I do not know for sure what vessel I will be on (should find out soon), but it will be similar to the one pictured. This voyage will have me out there from September through sometime in December, and I hope to learn a ton while I am at it.
Happy Saturday!
Dear Tennessee LGBTQ friends,
As some of you have heard, the state of Tennessee has recently passed a law allowing mental health care providers to turn away clients who don’t align with counselors’ “sincerely held principles” (religious beliefs, etc.), which can seriously compromise access to mental health services guaranteed under federal law for the LGBTQ community.
If you live in Tennessee and are no longer certain of a safe place to find mental/medical healthcare, I have compiled a list of open and affirming counselors/health care providers that are LGBTQ-inclusive (I am linking to these lists of providers, as I feel kind of weird putting these nice people’s names out there):
GLMA provider directory for Tennessee (some of these people are actual GLMA members)
Resources and healthcare providers in TN approved by Just Us Oasis Center
And just other great resources on the NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) website that can help you find providers
I hope these are somewhat helpful! I have not received healthcare from any of these individuals personally, but they seem pretty reputable, and most of these sites list an email address for someone you can contact in the event that you have a negative experience with any of these providers.
If anyone else has providers or helpful info they’d like to add to this post, please feel free! There is a lot I don’t know, and I genuinely want to be helpful.
Stay safe! Take care of yourselves.

Still stunned that somehow an LGBT health organization managed to schedule a conference with an emphasis on bisexual health during Bisexual Awareness Week ... and didn't know it until, like, now. *facepalm*
