Glori has always been a fundamentally angy character. It's why I thought of her as I was trying to think of an antagonist for my wip novel Uncertain Magia, though she's currently becomes more of vitriolic best best buds with my protag Celia.

But that's also why Glori is such a fun character. I refer to her as my little murder gremlin.

As a result of [PLOT-REASONS], Glori has obtained ridiculously powerful magia--at the cost of feeling as though she dies, every time she uses it. Her magia is as ridiculously painful as it is ridiculously powerful. And Glori is pretty pissed about the [PLOT-REASONS].

[PLOT-REASONS] here largely meaning that I haven't finished her backstory yet. It's an old trope, but from her creation, I always imagined Glori as gaining her powers after being experimented on in a lab. And Glori, being eminently pissed that she was not powerful enough pre-experimentation to stop said experimentation, proceeds to use powers she gained to make anyone and everyone regret ever crossing her. That's largely the biggest element of this character: Glori has never forgotten that extreme sense of vulnerability.

It's for this reason that the character she'll interact with the most, at least in the present draft, is Itilse. I still need to commission Itilse's character sheet, but Itilse is the most emotionally open character I have, largely because as a result of Itilse's own issues, she cannot conceive of being hurt as a result of being too honest. Whereas Glori approaches every interaction in the belief that even the most minor conversation can become a kill-or-be-killed situation, and she is determined to enter the scenario with a show of overwhelming force and bravado.
