Late Appreciation Post. Whether you knew her as the original mother of #sparkle and her sisters...or the housemother repping so many real life mentors at an #hbcu as Lettie before Julisa on #adifferentworld... I remember seeing her and the late great equally unsung #gloriafoster ( AKA The Oracle in #thematrix ) in #havingoursay on #Broadway with my theater buddy @dorothyknows 💛 I was so overwhelmed by the performances I did not want to go to the stagedoor afterwards... and regret it especially when I learned she got her wings recently... She got a #tonyaward for the original production of #fences which in the #babygirltv era I wanted to see very much...but too much was going on at home I guess, so the radio commercials with she and my acting hero #jamesearljones was all I had...
