We have fallen in love with this high-toned, post-Impressionist work called “The Apple Tree (Gloucester)” by the little known Susette Inloes Schultz Keats, and probably painted in the 1910s. Keast was a member of the Philadelphia Ten whose members included Theresa Bernstein and the sculptor Harriette Whitney Frismuth. The Philadelphia Ten was a collective established by women artists who were excluded from selling and showing by their male counterparts. Further proof that there are so many fine female artists still to be discovered. Not ours but wish it were. #artoftheday #philadelphiaten #femaleartist #postimpressionism #impressionism #paintingoftheday #gloucesterma https://www.instagram.com/p/CAENMEUg3Xf/?igshid=q8rm1bmq8yb9
