Miraculasona

I heard there was a miracusonas! thing going around curtesy of  @akumasonas, so here’s one that’s been floating in my head since a few episodes in. No art, since I unfortunately fail at drawing. I might attempt some later on. ((Note that she isn’t actually based on me anymore, I actually saw her in a dream and haven’t been able to get rid of her. With each new dream she’s more and more different.)) 

Name: Elaine Bembridge / Glowfly

Kwami: Brielle, who is black with yellow orange legs and arms, with vivid lime green eyes. She’s excitable and prone to glowing when she’s happy, constantly getting Elaine into trouble. Has the most trouble with putting her ‘charge’ into danger, is trying to talk Elaine into ‘retiring’. ((She’s failing.)) EDIT: Her favorite food is Jelly Beans. 

Miraculous: A simple pendent, pale gold when not in use, rose gold with black lines forming five bars that form the look of a firefly’s tail when transformed. As Elaine it hangs low, down past her bust, but as Glowfly the pendent rests in the hollow of her throat.  

Costume: A simple bodysuit like most, her’s is an orange-yellow at her feet that has a light-to-dark ombre at it goes up, with her torso being black. Starting at her shoulders going down her arms it’s black with swirled lines of the same light orange-yellow. She has a small pair of antenna, which slump down to work as an mic set- one by her ear, one by her mouth- when in communication with others.  Her mask has a set of auto-adjusting lenses that protect her eyes from her light. 

Something of note about Glowfly is that she’s actually mostly paralyzed from the hips down, something that happened ‘on the job’. Her limited mobility is compensated for by an alteration in her weapon, something uncommon. Prior to the accident, she had a chakram as a weapon, and her special power was triggered by smashing it into the ground. 

After the accident, it was actually a few years before she ever transformed again (Brielle consumed so much of her energy preventing Elaine’s death that she went into a sort of hibernation inside the miraculous.) When she did, Elaine discovered that her chakram was gone. Instead, when she transforms, she has a sort of backpack strapped to her, with the straps crossing over her front, and one going over her belly. This backpack has a pair of fold-up glowing mechanical wings, and a set of flash bombs that can be used to distract, signal, or confuse. 

Her role is primarily as a scout- she is the eye in the sky that warns the others of an akumas actions, and occasionally buys them more time. 

Special Power: “Call to Action”, Glowfly actually has a specific bomb that, when thrown, inspires those nearby to fight. If she throws it specifically at one person who’s got an excess of emotion, there’s a chance it’ll do a ‘reverse akumatization’ on them, but it only lasts the five minutes she has until she de-transforms. 

Transforming Phrase: “It’s time to glow!” 

Personality: Elaine is actually rather joyous, happy to spend time with others and constantly cracking well-meaning jokes about her circumstances. She falls at least partially in love with almost everyone she meets, but is very subtle about it. If she ever sees someone dancing, though, the raw pain and yearning in her face is palpable.  As Glowfly, she’s very straightforward, blunt almost. She knows just how dangerous things can get, and is determined no one else will be hurt as badly as she was. During the downtime after akumas, some of her jovial nature can bleed through, but it’s rather fleeting. She’s good at guessing who’s behind the masks, but keeps it to herself. 

Appearance (Since I lack art): Elaine has strawberry blond hair that’s kept in a long loose braid, usually draped over her shoulder, and two smaller braids hanging in front of her ears. Her eyes are a deep, very dark brown, and she has pale skin with a generous spattering of freckles across the bridge of her nose. Though it’s not obvious, she’s actually rather tall, and very slender. Her wheelchair is covered with stickers that remind her of her friends. She is usually wearing a long poofy mint green skirt, and a brown peasant off-the-shoulder long sleeve top. 

As Glowfly, her hair is twisted up into a bun, with the tail of her braid hanging out of it in an upward spray.

I was trying to make something akin to cardboard cut-outs like you’d see in a kid’s school play. These don’t quite hit the mark but they’re cute anyways?
