yougou  casts  dark  the  shadows  over  the  dimly  lit  path    --    that’s  why  he’s  not  aware,    really,    of  present  company  until  it’s  too  late.    his  heel  catches  at  the  edge  of  one  rock,    a  badly  aborted  movement  that  sends  a  shower  of  pebbles  skittering  down  the  mountainside  behind  him.    shock  enough  to  inspire  a  brief  gasp,    a  hand  that  flies  outward  to  catch  his  balance.    (    he  doesn’t  look  behind  him;    he’s  fallen  down  enough  pitfalls  by  now,    but  the  distance  still  makes  his  stomach  churn    ).

“    you  scared  me.    “    it  leans  a  tad  more  accusatory  than  teasing,    instead  of    normal    and  calm;    more  racing  heart.    he  tries  again,    softer  the  second  time,    though  the  line  of  his  shoulders  remains  tense.    “    lurking  in  the  shadows  like  that.    just  shove  me  down  next  time.    “

ahhh.. the weather is terrible today. dark gray clouds obscure the bright, 𝒈𝒐𝒍𝒅𝒆𝒏 sun. the one that reminds her so much of her brother and his smile. they both belong in the sky, and she misses that sun when it isn’t around. nearly as much as she misses aether. last night’s dream was another terror. the nightmare left her in tears upon her waking. 

when the sky starts spitting rain, she can feel the sadness creeping into her heart once again. the sound of thunder rumbling can be heard somewhere in the distance, another sign warning of a strong storm. she hates this. why does teyvat get to cry if she doesn’t? why does the world get to scream and throw a fit and break and burn and destroy when she has to hold it all in? it isn’t 𝑭𝑨𝑰𝑹. aurelian eyes close as she leans against the wall under the awning of the abandoned shrine. it doesn’t appear as though there’s any chance of it passing quickly. how unfortunate. lumine really isn’t in the mood to deal with.. any of this. 

looking around, she wonders, is the shrine truly abandoned? could she take shelter here? looking back out to the sky, she thinks it might be a good idea to try. the kitsune would 𝒹𝑒𝒻𝒾𝓃𝒾𝓉𝑒𝓁𝓎 want her out of the storm.. right? out of some kind of weird sense of privacy, lumine knocks, knuckles rapping against wood. the door shakes a bit under the force. The grating sound of it opening announces her entrance. peeking in while sliding the door, she tries to visualize what the inside will look like. she 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 hopes this shrine is abandoned.

Onikiri  eyes  sank  and  his  whole  face  immediately  lost  any  expression.  If  he  had  to  name  what  he  had  just  heard  he  would  say  PATHETIC

He  felt  absolutely  ashamed  of  the  fact  that  Kuya  had  called  him  "Little  baby  puppy  man".  In  no  incarnation  of  himself  would  he  have  experienced  such  a  reactionary  moment  like  this.  It  was  a  miracle  that  he  mustered  up  any  response  after  that.  He  was  still  extremely  shaken  and  could  not  collect  himself  after  what  the  lavender  youkai  had  served  him.  A  hit  straight  to  his  pride.   "Was  that  supposed  to  be  a  joke?  Or  maybe  an  insult?  You  will  REGRET  what  you  called  me.  I  can't  imagine  how  long  I'll  be  looking  for  you  but  you'll  regret  your  words  foolish  kitsune." Onikiri  had  a  rather  high  opinion  of  himself  the  mere  fact  of  being  called  "bottom"  had  greatly  increased  his  hatred  for  Kuya.
