Seo Ah oddly appreciated Taehyung’s presence.
He was an odd individual. He could be considered a friend— of course, he was. Why would she keep seeing him if it wasn’t the case?
There wasn’t a foundation to her developing a liking to him though. There wasn’t a specific gratification coming from this uncommon friendship. Comfort wasn’t much present either. There was no gain and no loss in befriending him. It was more a matter of convenience.
He was keeping her company when her mind was dull. At least she wouldn’t pity her own self.
And it was in a rather cold night, layers of blankets wrapped around her small frame, encompassing even the top of her head, that they decided to play Jenga.
It was the male’s turn to play. The state of the tower gave unpredictable foreshadowing. Standing on one block with a clear indication of tipping to the right, Taehyung had no choice but to compensate by going for the left. Yet, it all depended on pulling the right piece.
The soloist observed with her eyes wide. Intrigued by the result of his play, she secretly hoped for him to lose. No way could he pull out something easily around this time of the round. Excitement was expressed with a sudden bounce on her pillow when the young man took a block that made the tower shake and a portion rotate even.
This was it. She was going to win this time!
❝Ah…❞ She pouted. He seemed to not renounce so quickly to defeat. With a few pokes, he judged the condition the piece was and how much of an influence it has on the tower. A bit of push, pull and patience would lead to success. ❝ My hopes are high, I must keep them small. ❞
And she should. A smile appeared on his lips as he threw the block in the air to catch it afterwards.
It was her turn.
❝Oh dear…❞
