Glymur Iceland's highest waterfall plummets 196 metres into a deep canyon lined with green moss. The river Botnsa is sourced in lake Hvalvatn and takes its plunge next to the Hvalfell volcano. The name comes from its deep rumbling sound, and means clashing or ringing. Trails lead from the car park to both sides and the bottom of the falls can be reached by wading upriver, though there is a risk of rockfalls within the canyon, with the best view involving the most strenuous hike of the three. Care should be taken as many views involve getting near the edge of the canyon.
