“The US Forest Service has been spraying glyphosate across national forests in California and throughout the South for years, killing off native shrubs, grasses, wildflowers, and other plants that naturally return after wildfires.”
Why?
To clear land for commercially valuable timber species like Douglas fir and sugar pine.
Records show similar spraying in Maine, Minnesota, Washington, Oregon, and multiple southern states tied to the timber industry. Apparently this has been going on for decades.
the White House's plans to expand the chemical spraying to expand by another 10,000 acres in California’s Lassen National Forest, with reports saying it could eventually reach 75,000 acres in some burn zones.
I genuinely wish I had known about this sooner.
I am not usually someone who talks about protesting, nor jumps into it. .. but this feels like something people should be paying attention to.
They keep insisting glyphosate is safe and does not cause cancer.
Monsanto has paid out 11 billion in lawsuits connected to glyphosphate causing cancer.
