The Truth About Videogames
Video gaming is also my "beat" topic so I've somewhat addressed how big of a role video games play in my life - but allow me to reiterate.
When I was six years old I received my first gaming console the Super Nintendo. I remember spending hours playing Super Mario World with my younger brother and sister. From there the love for gaming grew exponentially and today it's something I'm seriously considering a career in (I really want to work for Valve).
I originally got into video gaming as a social activity with my siblings and friends - after all, what better party than a Mario Party!? But as I grew older I learned to view video games as a form of entertainment I could enjoy alone like a movie. The stories and graphics of modern day games are so detailed and compelling it's hard to see how anyone can still believe that video games are a mindless waste of time.
On the contrary, video games can actually have many positive effects such as improved motor skills and accuracy. Some examples of the many benefits of videogames are:
The Army using video games to train troops for battle.
Video games being used as therapy tool for recovering patients
Form of exercise that takes your mind of exercising thus allowing you to work out for longer
