A couple of things that makes me happy is empowering someone's confidence, happiness, and beauty through my artistry and building characters for writers to help tell their stories. For the last few years as a professional in the industry, I've been blessed to share my gifts of hairstyling and makeup artistry to my actors, friends, and clients. I must admit that I've become comfortable behind the camera, and have a tendency to shy away from pictures and selfies as of late, going through cycles of empowerment, then regressing back to shame and insecurity. With some gentle encouragement from my good friend @garrettmarkenson, I mustered up the courage to be his subject. A simple photo to document the beautiful haircut, he personally designed for my puzzle-like tresses. I must confess that I've struggled with my own self image, my self-esteem, perfectionism, and my weight since my adolescence. It's been a transformative last 3 years as I'm learning to love and embrace all that I am as I grow closer to knowing and uncovering my authentic self. Perfectly imperfect, no retouching, this is me. Thank you Garrett for your wisdom, your talent, and empowering me.
