Cancelling Girl Meets World has been an absolute injustice to the show. I am here to give four reasons why it needs to continue and what made it so great.

Reason #1: The Cast. The cast is absolutely phenomenal. They are the best actors on Disney that I have seen since probably the Suite Life of Zach and Cody and That’s So Raven. These actors and actresses dropped everything in their lives to come perform on this show for us, especially Danielle Fishel, which if you guys remember correctly, almost didn’t do the show and was pretty much done with acting for good. The cast not only performed in a believable way, but I was moved to tears several times on their delivery of lines in many episodes. They not only influenced us on the show but in real life. Many fans have found value in the things that these actors and actresses promote, and they may not looks at these actors and actresses lives nearly as close once the show is compromised.

Reason #2: The Ships. I know there are many people who will be happy or unhappy with me for this reason but I am going to state it because I think on some level we all know it’s true. Looking at all of the different relationship possibilities has allowed GMW fans to speculate, cherish and even get visibly upset over different relationships. It has gained a much wider viewer base and has even helped theorists amp up and decipher different possibilities that may happen in the show. Whether we love them or hate them, ships are a huge part in this show and are a big reason the show is so driven by the audience. We want to see the stories play out of Rucas, Riarkle, Lucaya, Joshaya, Rilaya, ect., ect. Their stories have ended and from multiple theories (like Square Dance or Cold War) they have become things we could hope for. They have become happy endings the characters could hope for. If the theories were looked at more closely by Disney, they would have seen the show was just not ready to end and there was so much more story to tell.

Reason #3: The Characters. This is on a completely different level from Reason #1. The cast performs the story that the characters live. We can’t lose the excellent cast because of how well they portray the story, but if we lose the cast, we lose the characters. There are so many stories that have helped influence and guide change in viewers lives for the better. What would we know had we not seen Farkle go through dramatic changes and several roles before he finally had started to become who he really is today? Not just a nerd, but a friend, a lover, and a kind heart. Or where would we find hope for someone who is still searching for it, like Maya? Where are we going to learn lessons about accepting who we are, embracing it, and eventually amplifying it to the best of our abilities without Riley or Smackle? How would we know to laugh through the bad or sad times, but also be completely honest when necessary without the influence of Zay? And, as this may be controversial to some, how would we ever know about Lucas and the rest of his backstory and what made him completely change his life around so he could be a good person but still accepted by those who love him? Without the continuation of the show, Maya still won’t have found all hope, Farkle still hasn’t completely discovered who he is, Riley and Smackle still fall short of making themselves the best they can be, Lucas won’t have his story shown so the audience can make sense of him and love him and Zay won’t be there to lift our heads when we are down.

Reason #4: The Show as a Whole. Going back to theorists, there are many self-discoveries, ships, character development and other stories that need to be told that MJ has so wonderfully built up for us to have it torn down by Disney. The themes, the costuming, the humor, the morals, the messages, the hidden messages, the characters, the props, and everything else that MJ and the writers put so much time and effort into are all getting completely thrown out the window with so many questions from the audience and so few answers.

I am not ready to let go of GMW. The world is not ready to let go of GMW. If any of you are reading this, please reblog (don’t just like) and share your reasonings why GMW shouldn’t be cancelled. I know we have a petition already doing this for us, but it helps to see reasoning elsewhere. We can’t stop fighting. We need to prove that hope isn’t for suckers. We can make a difference. We have trended several times, the cast notices us, and I don’t think anyone is ready for this show to end. Sometimes I even wonder if Disney regrets letting go (or will regret it later). Let’s move this show to Netflix, Hulu, or anything else and give the characters the chance to show us their stories and to help us learn and grow with them.
