it’s surprisingly easy to have a bucket list on a budget, or maybe this town just has enough going for it that sebin doesn’t feel the need to max out a credit card going some new and exciting place that he’s never been to before. there’s enough beauty right here in gaenari’s fields of yellow and mountaintops.
the sky was still navy and dotted with a spackling of stars when he had left his home, set out on one of the trails in the unpopulated areas of the town. between the headaches, the desperate attempts from his aunt and pleading of his mom, sometimes sebin just needs a little space. sometimes he just wants to watch the sun rise over the mountain and tip herbal tea from a thermos. it’s still cool before the sun is up, so he does just this.
dark skies slowly turn lighter as he finds his place at the top of a hill, sitting down in soft grass and watching as the first hints of blue are visible over the horizon. it’s then that he realizes he’s not alone. but sebin doesn’t turn immediately, doesn’t accuse whoever his company may be of following him. he doesn’t look their way even as he speaks. “it’s pretty, right? i don’t think pictures could ever do it justice.”
