Holy molerats everyone, the berry bush I planted last year is growing berries. Sounds normal I know, but honestly very little of what I literally plant comes to literal fruition.

I've forgotten what kind of berry it is, but they're 3.5 - 4cm long. There's only a few, but last year when I planted it, it was just a stick and a small vine, no more than 30 cm tall, so a good effort. And there's more berries forming so it looks like it continues production, not all at once like blackcurrants. I ran into the basement straight away to get netting to protect it from the birds.

Harvesting potatoes from the "not supposed to have any potatoes" patch.

Last year went over this garden and carefully removed all the potatoes I could find. Obviously some would remain, but somehow one plant managed to grow 5-6 stems that were over 2m long. How could one potato do that? And why? And why now? It was an insane amount of biomass for one potato plant. Multiple large arm fulls. Nothing grew that well here before, and there was no fertiliser added.

I had to pull that one out in spring because it was killing every plant I'd planted there, by growing over the top of them.

The remainder were smaller. I'll probably just get 1-2kgs of potatoes? Unfortunately it's hard to dig them up without harming all the other plants, so there's going to be 100 new plants in spring.

The lime green and hot pink themed section is the only bit of the garden that's working out more or less as planned.

I need some more houseplants that like the same conditions as this. Not ones that can tolerate the same conditions, I have a number of those, but actually likes them. This grows fast and flowers prolifically so it must be happy.

When should I expect my hellebores to flower? It's only the second day of "winter" (as defined by the calendar) but it doesn't look like it's starting any buds or anything.

I've had it 1-2 years, not sure exactly. I didn't expect it to flower previously because it was still young, but maybe this year? It's grown some nice big leaves so I think it's healthy.

Enormous miner's lettuce. Twice the diameter of the biggest I've seen before. Found an even bigger fresh green one and ATE it.
