Hi! Thanks for adding my "Matt B'Omer" post to the archive! I saw your tag wondering about it, and it's fine. Let me explain what this is all about: From Passover until the holiday of Shavuot (which we just observed), we do something we call "counting the omer." We count the days by saying "Today is the ___ day of the omer." In Hebrew, when you say "of the omer," you say "B'omer." Which made me think of Matt Bomer. We count 49 days "b'omer," so this is 49 pictures of Matt B'omer. :-)

It was for a White Collar story I wrote in 2012 - Happily Ever After Isn’t for Guys Like Us, and I read it whenever I start doubting myself:

I found myself writing this in chat to a pal who recced this to me, and thought, "Hey, the author should see this," so this is what I wrote:So it's wonderful, and...just a little QED for me in how to write wonderful casefic. I mean, it's casefic, but it's also relationship-fic, and at the same time, the watermark, all the little investigative details, even the wonderful FBI friend over the phone, pushing us forward into the revelation, they're all so well-written and really ring true. and it's just not fair that someone who can write wonderful detailed detective-work like that can also write a gutwrenching line like "I was the shiny new thing." She implicitly blames the parents, although she doesn't say it at all. But jeez, the detective side of it! It was like... like nothing I've read outside of Agatha Christie.

49 - writing advice:

It’s going to sound a little silly, but don’t be afraid.  Of the blank page.  Of what other people think.  Of what you know.  Of what you don’t know.  Write because it makes you happy.

The right ones look like rugelach to me.

I hadn’t thought of that, but that may be because I have mostly seen rugelach in our stores as fruit-filled rather than the nut paste that’s in this. I think apricot is the most common filling I’ve seen, and a little thicker (these are thinly rolled, like finger width around?). They really look SO GOOD (I wish I could eat them) and Chick says they are pretty amazing.

Chick was given a tray of cookies without any identifiers other than “traditional” and fell in love with all of them. I told her it’s not insulting to the gifter to ask what the cookies are, especially if she’s asking if she might have the recipe so she can enjoy making them! (The gifter is her boyfriend’s family). But she’s resisting asking so far.

Not sure if "Just keep swimming" or "If you're going through hell, keep going" fits better right now, to be honest. The latter feels a little closer to the current state I'm in.

Everyone needs a tiny dragon writing buddy! (I have a slightly larger dragon buddy, but my children have co-opted him for now.)

Right? I hope your children are taking good care of your buddy. 

They had a little bit bigger ones, too, but they were pink. I’m not generally a pink person anyway, but also, one of my major characters in my Nano piece is a dragon, who happens to be green.

Friends to lovers! and not just because I’m a little concerned about what “age difference” is as a trope, like, is there a whole genre of AUs out there where everything’s the same except one of them is underage?
