9. After a fun fair visit in which my muse managed to win you no prizes.
Hayi huffs and practically slams down the toy gun on the counter. She looks to the stall owner and says in a slight enraged voice, “One more time! I swear, I didn’t know my hetero heterochromia came with being cross-eyed!” The stall owner accepted her money a little bit too enthusiastically, probably because this was her sixth try. Hayi aims at a cute piglet, probably as big as her, at the end of the row of stuffed toys. She groans as she misses it with all of her five shots. She was about to call for another one when Yoongi put a hand gently on her shoulder and says, “Now, now Hayi. Haven’t you had enough?” Yoongi continues on a more enthusiastic note and says, “Come on! I saw caramel apples over at that corner!”
Hayi bites her lip. She would die for anything covered in caramel, but she really wanted to get her Yoongi oppa a cute toy that maybe they can share because she wanted it too. She looks at Yoongi hopefully and says, “Last one oppa?” Hayi sighs and looks at her sternly afterwards and says, “Last one okay?” Hayi nods enthusiastically and went to the stall owner once more.
Hayi misses with her first four shots, and she was down for her last one. Her eyes water when she realizes she has no hope on getting that cute fluffy pig for her Yoongi oppa. She tries to discreetly wipe her tears with the sleeve of her sweater with her back facing Yoongi.
Yoongi sighs and pats her head gently as he decides that he should probably help her cause after the waterworks, knowing Hayi, it’ll probably be a temper tantrum. He guides her and puts his hand on hers and puts his other hand on her shoulder. He whispers “relax” into her ear and he pulls the trigger. After a while of staring at each other, they suddenly realize that they had indeed hit the piglet.
Hayi screams and loops her hand by Yoongi’s shoulders as she starts jumping up and down. She kisses his cheek before she claims the prize from the stall owner, holding it proudly in her arms. She presents it to Yoongi and the boy could only gape at her. Hayi grows impatient of Yoongi’s silence and says, “What? Aren’t you going to take it?” Yoongi blinks and says, “You spent a total of $30 for 6 rounds, just to get me a bear?” Hayi huffs as she tries to flip her hair over, but unsuccessfully doing so because of the large bear and says, “Of course! And it's not a bear, but it's a pig! Now are you going to take it or not oppa?” Yoongi flashes Hayi and indulgent smile and says, “I don’t know if I should call you cute or stupid.”
