Rewatching some Maul & Savage scenes, and I got to that one where he takes Savage as an apprentice- and that whole thing happened because Savage was all happy about some credits he found and Maul couldn't care less, but if you think about it, it makes a lot of sense Maul wouldn't care about money.
He is referred as talking and behaving similar to a rich kid already, but he is a rich kid in every way.
His mother is the Dathomir equivalent of a queen, his master is a senator later turned chancellor, his grandmaster was muun, member of a banking clan- the whole Bane lineage is of extremely influential and powerful sith of the galaxy!
Even thinking in the fucked up way of his childhood perspective on Wrath, money is never a worry for him. If he goes on a mission or use any sort of equipment, it always paid by Sidious and of good quality! That was probably the only trauma Sidious never gave to him because even if he could not pay for something, then Plagueis could. He literally puts Maul in a private school. And paying more than the usual guardian for Maul to be accepted since he is younger and Force-sensitive! He then goes out of his way to buy Meltch back into the school to teach Maul!
Is MSL, Maul once again could not care less about the credits and is ready to leave them behind whitout a second thought!
Darth Maul is a rich kid.
