GO Global Honduras: Close to the End

After three days working on a variety of activities, the GO Honduras teams get to end their week with two hugely impactful events.  The first of these, on Thursday, is passing out food to one of the colonias.  Click on the post below to read about the impact this huge blessing has on the people of Mogote and the team from CCCC.

Today was a happy day. The past several have been pretty emotionally taxing, and though there were tough parts to this job, we were part of sharing God’s bounty with his children today. How much more could we have been blessed?

It’s so overwhelming to think of the need there is here in Mogote. And the rest of Honduras. And the rest of Central America. And the rest of the world. There is so much brokenness and so much hunger for food and for life and so much need. But Jesus is the bread of life and he is faithful.

GO Global Honduras: Trip Update

All this week, CCCC has another group of missionaries on the ground in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, continuing our partnership with Hope for Honduras and acting as Christ’s hands and feet to the people of Mogote.  Abby Walker, the trip blogger for the week, has setup her own blog for updates; see below for a quick preview, then click the links to head over and read their first two blogs.

During our tour, you could feel the possibilities of all the amazing work God will be doing this week. It is inspiring to see how much the Lord has been able to do through all the hard work and faithfulness of his servants both here in Honduras and in the hearts of all the volunteers back in the U.S. who provide resources for this mission.

Oklahoma City Hurricane: How You Can Help

Student Ministry GO Series

As we come up on the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, the opportunities for local GO ops will be plentiful.  In step with this season of giving and serving, the student ministries at each of our campuses will be doing a GO series, where they will learn why, and how, we are called to GO. For the first three weeks of November, the students will hear three messages on GO: Why GO? - What the Bible says about GO I GO - GO-ing as an individual We GO - GO-ing in community In addition to just hearing the series, our students will also get to put their faith into action!  Each student small group will have the chance to design and GO do their own local GO op.

James 2: 18 - “But someone will say, ‘You have faith and I have works.’ Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.”

What a great way for the youth of CCCC to impact their community, and to be an example to our church body.  Check back here in early December to hear and see the stories of our student designed GO ops!   --the GO team

Compassion Sunday

A few weeks ago, we posted about the upcoming Compassion Sunday drive at CCCC.  This was especially exciting for us, since we funded the opening of a Child Survival Program (CSP) with a portion of the Everyone Campaign funds.  For this particular Compassion Sunday, the focus was on kids from Kenya who were finishing a CSP.  As you can see, our church has continued the amazing generosity of giving children the gift of sponsorship!

In addition, this year one small group built a replica Kenyan hut that was stationed outside the church on Compassion Sunday, to show a normal house from the area we focused on.

Go Ukraine - On the Ground In L'Viv

Good evening from L’Viv!  We arrived safely and with uneventful flights on each leg of the trip.  We met several Ukrainian team mates at the airport and headed to our private bed-and-breakfast to drop our luggage and freshen up.  Then we headed down to the open-air market to stretch our legs a bit and grab some lunch.  After wandering around the city, we had a very nice meal at the Mason’s restaurant (where only members of the Mason’s club are permitted to dine).  Dinner was delicious but we’re all very tired and ready for a good night’s sleep before we catch the train to camp in the morning.  A special thanks goes out tonight to all the people who helped make this trip possible for each of us.  Your prayers, support, personal help, and financial contributions are all greatly appreciated as we are able to rest assured that we’ve left our homes, our families, our pets, all our loved ones in safe hands with you back home while we venture forth.

You may not hear from us for a few days.  I understand there may be no internet connectivity once we arrive at the camp.  Rest assured that I’ll keep a daily journal and will send updates whenever we get connected back up. God bless you and keep you all. Amy L. Weaver   --the Go Team
