Cupricorn is a goat. This seems obvious, with the design and species name being “Goat Pokemon” but it took me until it evolved to realize that it wasn’t. I though I was looking at a other horse. This is no fault of the game, but my own lack of attention. That is all, moving on.
Cupricorn is a pure Steel type goat Pokemon, and a cute one at that. It doesn’t really look like a Steel type though, looking much more like a normal type. It lacks any definite Steel type traits aside from maybe it’s horn, but that is a very small part of it’s design to base the whole typing on.
Hornikel too is pretty standard, with a few more fantastical elements like the jet black front legs and horns, both of which look like they’re made of metal. It does a better job of conveying metal than Cupricorns relatively plain design. I do like the blue eyes as well, as they’re a small touch that kind of stick out amongst the solid white and black.
Goabalt has become a Steel/Dark, with the visciousness to match. It’s body is now more obviously metallic than both of it’s pre evolutions, with the front legs looking almost mechanical, while the hind legs look like they’ve been replaced at the knee. The few red marks help with it’s more intimidating appearance, and the darker overall color scheme helps portray it’s new typing as well.
The Cupricorn line starts out pretty blandly, but it does get better as it evolves. That being said, I’m not a huge fan of this Fakemon, but that’s more due to my personal preference than anything, so I’ll be fair to the Cupricorn line here and give them three ridiculously buff Pikachu out of five.
