Monday Motivation: Define What Drives You. Oprah shared the William E. Henley quote, "I am the master of my fate and captain of my soul" to speak to how she guides her decisions on intuition. Last week I felt lost. There was several moments and professional mentors that guided me back spiritually to see and appreciate the unique contribution I bring to the world. Whenever you feel overwhelmed, like there are a million reasons to quit, learn to take rest and acknowledge the one reason you have to keep going, you are alive. Lady Gaga's song, "Million Reasons" was played at the end of Savasana (end of yoga) and really hit home with me this week. I taught yoga this morning at 5:30am and in the past would give myself little time to wake up, journal and get centered before being at the mercy of the schedule of overcommitments of the day. Today I choose to create something new. This Monday, moving in to week 3 of the 40 Days to a Personal Revolution yoga challenge, the theme is restoration. How can you reclaim your mornings or even your day by slowing down to get Intentional on what you choose to create? Some tools that keep me going: Journal 3 things you are grateful for, something you are working on doing better, and what you want to focus on today. To set yourself up powerfully for the week: Create a mantra or intention. Pinterest, spiritual word, or a quote is a great way to find something that speaks to you. Read that quote every morning and evening to stay fueled throughout the week. And remember, you are the captain of your fate and master of your soul. What do you have to give? How can you better serve others? You get one life, be sure to OWN I.T.
