her    first    match    with    the    team    was    an    absolute    disaster.            on    the    field    she    was    practically    avoided    like    the    plague,        ball    rarely    at    her    foot        &        she    came    off    with    a    few    bruises.            they    won,        but    at    what    cost        ?        her    second    match    was    a    different    story    all - together.            jodie    fought    on    that    pitch        &        it    was    a    glorious    blood - bath.            she    left    victorious    but    it    still    didn’t    feel    right.            it    wouldn’t    until    the    guys    had    her    back.            was    this    a    step    in    the    right    direction    though        ?        if    she    kept    scoring    goals    then    maybe        (    ...    )

everyone    else    had    just    left    to    celebrate    their    second    win    of    the    season        &        all    there    was    was    jodie    sitting    in    the    team’s    gym.            she    couldn’t    afford    to    celebrate    like    the    rest    of    them.            she    had    a    point    to    prove.            woman    felt    him    before    eyes    seen    him,        she    took    a    quick    gulp    of    water    before    turning    to    face    the    goalkeeper.

jodie    knew    her    rise    to    rockwell    united    would    be    met    with    some    resistance.            it    wasn’t    an    entirely    popular    occurrence          ...          with    fans        &        members    alike.            they    had    a    target,        a    goal,        &        some    believed    her    involvement    would    hinder    that.            they    didn’t    see    her    sheer    talent,        they    just    saw    her    gender          ---          while    the    powers    that    be    saw    pound    signs.            jodie    would    have    to    fight    her    biggest    battle    yet.

training    with    the    boys    was    always    going    to    be    difficult,        she    knew    that.            they    rarely    passed    to    her,        the    tackles    would    surely    earn    some    red    cards,        &        don’t    get    her    started    on    their    keeper.               a    rivalry    had    been    born.

for    a    moment    jodie    just    stared    at    the    male,        tongue    curling    in    her    mouth    before    she    had    to    bite    it.            why    did    it    have    to    be    this    difficult        ?               ❛ ❛        this    may    come    as    a    shock    to    you    but    i    don’t    give    a    shit    whether    you’re    happy    for    me    or    not.            i’m    a    part    of    this    team.        ❜ ❜               anger    was    sparking    within    her    veins,        a    heat    only    he    could    engulf    her    in.
