2021 writing goals

I got tagged by @stuffaboutwriting, thank you very much! So here’s my third attempt in my entire life at creating goals for the year (note: creating, not achieving otherwise this will become really embarrassing in about 11 months).

Edit TAOKI and get it to beta readers. I feel very strongly about this one. Aiming very loosely for May? June?

Edit The Five Senses and get it to alpha readers, but I am not certain how long editing will take me so maybe, more generally, working again on The Five Senses.

Drafting In the Land of Twilight, but not to a full draft. I am not sure how long this story will be in the end, so if I don’t manage to draft it this year, that’d be totally fine too. No rush. This is my happy project, pressure doesn’t exist in this world.

Finish drafting TAP 3 and maybe 4. Just rough first drafts, no quality necessary. Just so that I have them.

With the ask you just posted— I somehow got my dad back into reading, with Warriors, of all things! He goes on long business trips, and he reads them a lot on the plane. He got through the first series and I’m trying to convince him to read the second, at least. He admitted that he cried a few times! Trying to convince my mom but she just isn’t into fantasy/fiction and won’t give it a shot.

THIS LITERALLY MADE ME SAY "AAWWW" OUT LOUD I'M SORRY THAT IS AMAZING oh goodness I'm so excited for my nephew to get to the fifth and sixth book of the first series, where the Real Feels are concentrated. He sounds like he's trying to prepare himself for the pain ("I know Bluestar has to die eventually right?" he says, thinking he can trick me into saying anything besides "IM NOT TELLING YOU."), but it won't work and I know it lol.

These books have their flaws, but dang they know when and how to hit you right in the feels!
