OK everyone is going crazy about the angst which is understandable, but since when did the story progress through so many years? What the hell have I missed? Last time I checked, smol Chara was hugging Asriel because he secretly needed a tackle hug
It progresses whenever we want! We go forward, we go back, we step into the future a bit and hop back.

It depends a lot on what we want to do with an ask we receive. If we feel like making a joke or progressing something. Sneaking in some drama etc. ;3 Of course it was my ideas that put angst into Goatline. There’s just too much potential. I can’t let it go to waste.

What were to happen if Chara remembered their life on the surface?
I did have some ideas about this! But it’s not really possible. The human memory is only capable of retaining so much information and memories. If we account for trauma(to the brain!) and the potentially hundreds of years that could have gone between Chara falling into the underground and the current time…
Well Chara wouldn’t even remember what the surface looked like if it wasn’t for pictures that might come through the dump!
