METAL MONDAY: Grey Rocks by Goatpsalm - I do not often get the chance to post any Russian metal, but a new album help me revisit this shocking gap in my metal geography. I do not know much about this crew, but this is some seriously deep and disturbing funeral doom.
The opener is probably the best tune to sum up what this band and their album Downstream are all about. It is long, it is a slow build, and it is not obvious in the way most music is. But it moves you along and soon you are left devastated. Do not let the calming nature sounds fool you, this is a journey that kicks you into the grave and beyond.
