Fire decided to stick to the sidelines for the time being, quietly standing in a corner with a glass of Pecha juice as he watched the other guests, keeping an eye out for anyone he knew.
He'd be lying if he said he was entirely comfortable being back in his home region, but he'd travelled a long way to get here, and spent money on a new dress just for the occasion. It would be a waste to leave again this early.

He noticed her hair before anything else, not used to seeing her in clothes coloured this dark. Still, Weiss was unmistakable, and as soon as Fire spotted her across the deck, he started walking towards her, waving to catch her attention.
"Weiss, hey! I was looking for you."
"Pyukumuku chucking is more exhausting than I thought..."
But he needed the money to afford a new set of formal clothes for the upcoming ball, and this job paid well. Oh well, it could be worse.
