I've been wondering about Hurricanger's Hurricane Hawk. For someone reason, I had been designating Sentai bird-based mecha (that have SIT DOWN cockpits, and DON'T flap their wings) as fighter jets. But the same could not be said about Hurricane Hawk because I heard it does not carry guns, is that true?
Well, it’s kind of unique for a bird-themed red mecha. It does not flap is wings and moves more like a jet but you are right in saying it doesn’t really carry guns.
What it can do though is channel Hurricange Red’s ninpou to create fire to attack foes with. Engulfing itself in flame, it rushes the opponent and hits with the full force of a burning mecha doing concussive and fire damage.
This attack is reminiscent of several others from tokusatsu and anime, most notably that of the God Phoenix from 1972′s Kagaku Ninjatai Gatchaman.
The attack, as used in Ninpuu Sentai Hurricanger is called the Karakuri Ninpou Fire Hawk.
